is originally from Mexico City. She moved to Texas shortly after graduating from the Anahuac University Law School to pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) degree at the University of Texas in Austin.

In 2015, Fernanda relocated to San Antonio and worked for a local law firm specializing in family law and immigration before establishing her own practice. Her passion for law, particularly immigration law, stems from her own immigrant background. She and her husband arrived in the United States at a young age, experiencing the immigration process firsthand.

Having resided in San Antonio, TX, for over 10 years, Fernanda enjoys exploring new restaurants and supporting local small businesses to contribute to her community.

Julieth Katherine Pineda Hernandez

Foreign Legal Consultant (not licensed in Texas)

Julieth has extensive experience in Immigration Processes, having gained this expertise while in Colombia. Julieth also had the privilege of being a fellow in the Women’s Empowerment program, an invitation extended by the Government of India. She was among the fortunate individuals selected in the H1B Visa Lottery for Barba Inegol Law Firm.

Julieth Katherine Foreign Legal Consultant (not licensed in Texas) has hands-on experience in various US Immigration processes, both in non-immigrant and immigrant categories. These include work visas, investor visas, and residency petitions. In May 2024, Her commitment to immigration and her passion for personal and professional growth continue to be exemplary.  She also has a deep passion in learning about new cultures, exploring new places, and forging new friendships.

Maria Jovanovic

Paralegal

is originally from Colombia. Studied Tourism Administration and moved to Houston, TX in 1999. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Worked in Global Immigration since 2005, obtaining work and residence visas in multiple countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, and assisting her clients with their post-arrival processes and visa renewals. An immigrant herself, as well as her Serbian husband, has first-hand experience of what it is to go through the different immigration processes to obtain residence and citizenship in the US. 

Javier Fernando Pamplona Hernández

is a graduate with a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Arts from the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga. He has continued his education by completing a diploma program in virtual education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education.

With 8 years of experience in the Colombian television industry, Javier has worked on various telenovelas and served as a professor for 2 years. His expertise includes digital animation, 3D, editing, video, photography, and the creation of educational content. He is deeply passionate about visually impactful storytelling and enjoys sharing knowledge with others through technology and creativity.

Vannessa Velasco

Legal Assistant

Earned her Law degree in Colombia in 2019 and brings a well-rounded legal education to her role at Barba Inegol Law. Her academic training has given her a strong foundation in legal principles, which she now applies to the field of immigration law—a field she has grown increasingly passionate about.

As a bilingual legal assistant fluent in English and Spanish, Vannessa plays a key role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout the immigration process. She is known for her thorough approach, professionalism, and genuine care for each client’s case. Under the guidance of the firm’s attorneys, she continues to expand her knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the team’s mission of providing accessible and compassionate legal services.

Juan D. Aguirre Ramírez

Legal Assistant

is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. He has been pursuing his academic and professional goals in San Antonio, Texas, since moving there nine years ago. He earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in History from St. Mary’s University. He is currently in the process of applying to law school, with a special interest in immigration law, corporate law, and international law. In addition, he is completing a Certified Paralegal course accredited by NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) to further strengthen his legal training.

Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Juan has a great passion for soccer and history. He enjoys following international soccer leagues and matches, and believes that the sport brings people from different cultures together in a unique and powerful way. He also dedicates time to reading about historical events and figures, particularly those who have shaped political systems and international relations. These interests not only bring balance to his daily life but also deepen his understanding of the global context that influences many areas of law.
